OUT OF OFFICE PRIVACY POLICY — WEBSCAPE, CHRISTCHURCH

Out of Office Privacy Policy

This policy covers Out of Office for iPhone and Mac, provided by Glassrope Limited, trading as Webscape, Christchurch, New Zealand. It describes the current app and companion.

Last updated 30 October 2026

1What stays on your devices

The app stores your schedule, day settings, blocking and Strict mode preferences, onboarding state, and reminder history on your devices. The iPhone stores app and website selections using Apple’s Screen Time frameworks, including privacy-preserving selection tokens. The Mac stores whether Slack is selected and checks whether Slack is running so it can request that Slack close during blocked hours.

These settings are used to apply the boundaries you choose. The current app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, an account service, or a developer-operated backend for your schedule. We do not receive your Slack messages, work documents, browsing history, or Screen Time selections through the app.

2What syncs through Apple iCloud

The app uses Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to sync your start and end times, weekly day modes, enabled state and Strict mode between devices using the same Apple Account. A revision timestamp is included to resolve updates. App selections and the reminder history stay specific to each device.

Apple operates this storage under its own privacy terms. Webscape does not operate the sync servers or receive a copy of your iCloud schedule. Delivery can be delayed, and opening the iPhone app may be necessary to apply incoming changes.

3Permissions and local reminders

Screen Time authorization lets the iPhone app and its extensions apply restrictions to your selected apps and websites. Mac launch-at-login registration starts the companion after you sign in. Notification permission lets the Mac show local reminders when it closes a blocked app.

Reminder text is generated from a library included with the app. It is not sent to an AI service for generation. Notification delivery is local and follows your device’s notification and Focus settings.

4Mac website filtering

The optional Mac network filter is a system extension. Its rules cover slack.com and Slack service domains, including their subdomains. The filter uses a local schedule file shared with the companion and can enforce that saved schedule independently of the companion.

The current provider makes domain-level allow or block decisions. It does not request message payload bytes, inspect Slack message content, or send network traffic or domain logs to Webscape. Traffic outside the configured Slack domains bypasses this provider. macOS requires approval before the filter can run.

5The website and support enquiries

This product page is hosted on the Webscape website. Website hosting, security, analytics, cookies and any website chat or enquiry form are covered separately by the Webscape website privacy policy at https://webscape.co.nz/privacy-policy. Those website services are not embedded in the Out of Office app.

If you email support, we receive your email address and what you choose to send. We use that information to respond and investigate the issue. Please do not send Slack message content, passwords or access tokens. Email and website providers process information for those services; some processing can occur outside New Zealand.

6Storage, retention and security

App settings remain in local storage and Apple iCloud until removed or replaced through the applicable device or Apple service. Uninstalling an app does not necessarily remove iCloud settings, backups or copies on your other devices. Apple controls the retention and deletion of data in its services; Webscape cannot access or directly erase your private iCloud store.

We keep support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to resolve and follow up your enquiry, or meet applicable record-keeping duties. We use reasonable safeguards for information we hold. No device, cloud service or email system is guaranteed to be completely secure.

7Your choices and rights

You can change your schedule and app choices when a Strict session is not active. You can revoke Screen Time access, manage Mac notifications and login items, and manage or remove the Mac network filter through system settings. These choices affect what the app can block.

For information about data in your Apple Account, use Apple’s privacy and iCloud controls. For personal information held by Webscape, including support enquiries, email hello@webscape.co.nz to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. We handle requests under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including its applicable response timeframes. You can raise an unresolved privacy concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

8Updates and contact
